Penny Lacroix (aka “Penoix”) is a fiber artist specializing in handweaving, handspinning and historical interpretation.

My studio is in my home in Westford, Massachusetts. I teach weaving and spinning at The Fiber Loft in Harvard, MA and offer private instruction and workshops for guilds, camps and other organizations.

I am a member of Col. Bailey’s 2nd Massachusetts Regiment, a reenacting group interpreting Revolutionary War period history. I also freelance my interpretive programs in spinning, weaving, natural dyeing and other related topics.

In former careers as a systems engineer and a museum director, I developed an appreciation for both right- and left-brained activity.  But having launched two children, I can say my role as a parent is my favorite and most educational.

Fiber arts has always been a part of my life, since a babysitter hooked the 7-year old me into playing with yarn. With experience in machine sewing, hand sewing, needlework, knitting, crochet and other fiber arts, I’ve settled into my love of weaving and spinning and am thankful to be able to focus on them fulltime. I love spending time creating, and I love teaching others to create.
